Ernst: Let’s Support Women, Children; Safely Reopen Our Schools

Ernst praised Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds for her leadership on this issue, and called on the rest of the country to follow Iowa’s lead.

WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) today continued to push for the safe reopening of schools to both support children who are falling behind during remote learning, as well as women—particularly moms—who have often been forced to leave the workforce to stay home and care for their kids.
 
Ernst praised Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds for her leadership on this issue, and called on the rest of the country to follow Iowa’s lead.

Background:
Senator Ernst helped introduce the Put Students First Act of 2021, legislation which would prohibit federal funding to schools that do not provide an in-person learning option by April 30, 2021.
