Throughout this Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.
RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Latimer Grocery of Franklin County. Throughout the 119th Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.
“Latimer Grocery has stocked the shelves with dedication and delivered for its neighbors year after year,” said Chair Ernst. “Under strong leadership, the store continues to raise the standard for what hometown businesses can achieve, all while serving up fresh solutions that keep rural communities thriving.”
Founded in 2008 to ensure Latimer, Coulter, and the surrounding communities would have dependable access to essential groceries, Latimer Grocery has grown from a grassroots effort into a trusted hub for fresh foods. Their locally sourced products and popular deli have made them known for sandwiches, pizzas, and harvest season meal deliveries. Now, approaching 20 years of service, the store continues to strengthen partnerships with Iowa producers, support local families, and bring the community together. Latimer Grocery remains a proud example of how small-town businesses fuel growth in rural Iowa.
Stay tuned as Chair Ernst continues to recognize outstanding Iowa small businesses with her Small Business of the Week award.
