Ernst Meets With Iowans Supporting Israel, Discusses Her Bipartisan, Bicameral DEFEND Act

DES MOINES— As support for her bipartisan, bicameral DEFEND Act continues to grow, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) – co-chair of the Senate Abraham Accords Caucus – today met with members of Iowans Supporting Israel to discuss her bill and their efforts to support Israel.  The discussion included the historic Abraham Accords, ongoing tensions in the Middle East, and ways the U.S. can continue to support our friend and ally Israel.

Background:

Ernst, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, introduced the Deterring Enemy Forces and Enabling National Defenses (DEFEND) Act in June, to improve normalization ties between Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq in the area of air and missile defense against Iran and it's proxies. The DEFEND Act is endorsed by: ADL; AIPAC; AJC; American Jewish Congress; CUFI Action; FDD Action; Hadassah, the Women’s Zionist Organization of America; JFNA; JINSA; USIEA; and Senior Middle East scholars who support this bill at the Atlantic Council.
