WASHINGTON—U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) applauded the bipartisan disaster aid package advancing to the President’s desk, to provide critical relief for Iowans affected by the recent flooding. The bill includes an amendment championed by Senator Ernst that would extend federal aid from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to include Iowa farmers’ stored grain that was lost in the flooding.
In addition, Senator Ernst discussed the need for action on the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Trade Agreement (USMCA) and outlined the importance of this trade agreement for Iowa’s farmers and manufacturers.
