Senator Ernst Statement on Passing of Former Iowa Adjutant General Retired Maj. Gen. Warren “Bud” Lawson

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) released the following statement on the passing earlier this week of Retired Major General Warren “Bud” Lawson of Ankeny, the 26th Adjutant General of Iowa.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of General Lawson and my thoughts and prayers go out to his wife, Bobbie, daughter Laurie, and their entire family. General Lawson was a true hero, dedicating his life to our great state and country through his more than 44 years of military service in the U.S. Army and Iowa National Guard. General Lawson was responsible for more than 9,500 Iowa National Guard Soldiers and Airmen during his 14 years as the Adjutant General of Iowa, and made an invaluable contribution to the state of Iowa. On behalf of Iowa, I am thankful to him and his family for his years of service.”
