Ernst Works to Repeal Biden’s Arms Embargo on Israel

WASHINGTON — After President Biden announced he would withhold weapons from Israel if they conducted a full-scale ground invasion of Rafah in Gaza, U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) joined her colleagues in holding the administration accountable to send critical weapons to Israel through the Israel Security Assistance Support Act.

“Choosing to deny critical munitions to Israel is reprehensible, and it reeks of politics,” said Senator Ernst. “I’m holding President Biden accountable to standing by our ally in their fight to defend themselves against Iran-backed terrorists. This bill will do just that while ensuring Israel receives the precision tools they need to target Hamas and protect innocent civilians.”

The Israel Security Assistance Support Act would:

  • Force the Biden administration to complete the delivery of weapons to Israel.
  • Cancel the salaries of any Biden administration official at the Department of Defense or Department of State who take any action to withhold the delivery of weapons to Israel.
