Ernst Names Small Business of the Week, Heart ‘n Home

Throughout this Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Heart ‘n Home of Pocahontas County. Throughout the 119th Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“One arrangement at a time, Heart ‘n Home brings warmth and creativity to Pocahontas County,”said Chair Ernst. “As she has created memorable moments for folks across the community, Julie’s passion for crafting and her ‘couture arrangements’ have helped business bloom.”

After trying times, Julie Wurr’s grandmother told her, “Happy hands make happy hearts,” which inspired Julie to create beautiful floral arrangements and start Heart ‘n Home in 1991. What started as a garage-based floral shop has grown into an outstanding retail experience defined by artistic expression. Over the years, the business has earned the reputation as both a floral studio and welcoming boutique offering home decor items, silk and dried arrangements, gourmet food, and ever-changing unique gifts.

Stay tuned as Chair Ernst continues to recognize outstanding Iowa small businesses with her Small Business of the Week award.
