Ernst Names Small Business of the Week, Sister’s Home Style Entrees

Throughout this Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Sister’s Home Style Entrees of Humboldt County. Throughout the 119th Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“Sister’s Home Style Entrees has served up success with hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of elbow grease,” said Chair Ernst. “What began in Deb Davis’ kitchen has simmered into a powerhouse operation that continues to warm hearts and homes across Iowa.”

Founded in 2011 by Deb Davis, Sister’s Home Style Entrees began as a simple effort to provide home-cooked meals to loved ones. Today, the small business continues to prepare nutritious frozen meals for folks across Iowa and neighboring states. Now owned by Mary Catherine Ferry following Deb’s retirement, Sister’s HomeStyle Entrees stands as a powerful example of how a heartfelt idea, guided by strong leadership, can grow into an essential service.

Stay tuned as Chair Ernst continues to recognize outstanding Iowa small businesses with her Small Business of the Week award.
