Ernst Names Small Business of the Week, Lake City Veterinary Service

Throughout this Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Lake City Veterinary Service of Calhoun County. Throughout the 119th Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“Since 1974, Lake City Veterinary Service has kept Iowa’s livestock squealing with good health and remained udderly dedicated to serving the community so Iowa farmers can feed and fuel the world,” said Chair Ernst. “Dr. Armbrecht’s dedication to Iowa agriculture and mentoring the next generation of veterinarians represents the best of the heartland’s small business owners!”

After graduating from Iowa State University and serving in the U.S. Army Veterinary Corps, Dr. Armbrecht established Lake City Veterinary Service with his wife. For decades, the small business provided high-quality veterinary care to livestock producers across Iowa. In 2015, Dr. Armbrecht transitioned the clinic to an independent practice and continues to serve the community through farm calls and work in livestock markets, ensuring the health and success of Iowa’s livestock industry.

Stay tuned as Chair Ernst continues to recognize outstanding Iowa small businesses with her Small Business of the Week award.
