Ernst Names Small Business of the Week, Holstein Manufacturing

RED OAK, Iowa – ­­­­­­U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Holstein Manufacturing of Ida County. Throughout the 119th Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in each of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“Holstein Manufacturing has grilled the competition with its craftsmanship and always meatsthe community where they are needed,” said Chair Ernst. “Today, under Darrin Schmidt’s leadership, the company continues to roast the standard for what local businesses can achieve, all while cooking up solutions for customers across the country and around the world.”

Founded in 1976 by Bruce Schmidt on a family farm outside Holstein, Iowa, Holstein Manufacturing has grown from a homemade hog cooker built for a local fundraiser into a respected manufacturer of grills, chicken and rib cookers, deep fat fryers, corn roasters, stock trailers, animal feeding equipment, and more. Now led by Darrin Schmidt, the company continues to build on that legacy. Each product is designed with durability, precision, and customer needs in mind.

Even with an international reach, Holstein Manufacturing remains deeply connected to its hometown.
