Ernst Names Small Business of the Week, Highlights Schumacher Elevator Company

Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Schumacher Elevator Company of Bremer County. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“Quality jobs and a commitment to service drive our local economies, and Schumacher Elevator Company is a prime example of that. Our Iowa small businesses are the pulse of our communities, and when they provide career opportunities and support the next generation of Iowans, it’s a win-win,” said Ranking Member Ernst.

The Schumacher Elevator Company has kept its roots in Bremer County for 87 years and emphasizes the importance of giving back to its community through scholarships for local high school students and charitable giving. What started as designing, building, and installing custom lifts for feed bags for a local chicken hatchery has grown into a full-service elevator building operation with a global reach. The values of quality service and commitment to their community are carried on by four generations of hard work and continue to be a vital economic driver for the community with over 250 highly trained employees.

Stay tuned as Ranking Member Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award.
