Ernst Names Small Business of the Week, Hall Roberts’ Son

Throughout this Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Hall Roberts’ Son of Allamakee County. Throughout the 119th Congress, Chair Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“Since opening in 1864, Hall Roberts’ Son has continued to harvest success as a wholesale distributor of agricultural products,” said Chair Ernst. “As a family-run business, today’s team continues to plant seeds of service throughout the community, exemplifying the best of American entrepreneurship.”

Hall Roberts’ Son began as a family-run general mercantile company and has transformed into a wholesale distributor of agricultural products that serve customers across Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois. After being passed down through three generations of the Roberts family, Chris Hoffert took over as president. For over 160 years, Hall Roberts’ Son has stayed true to the family’s mission of community involvement and service, while serving the agricultural community.

Stay tuned as Chair Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award.
