Ernst Names Small Business of the Week, Bloom Floral

Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

RED OAK, Iowa – U.S. Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), Ranking Member of the Senate Small Business Committee, today announced her Small Business of the Week: Bloom Floral of Kossuth County. Throughout this Congress, Ranking Member Ernst plans to recognize a small business in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

“I want to congratulate Kelsey Thompson and the entire team at Bloom Floral for the passion and care they put into each and every floral arrangement, wedding, and workshop,” said Ranking Member Ernst. “As a florist, podcaster, and online teacher, Kelsey goes above and beyond to serve others and uplift her fellow entrepreneurs. I’m looking forward to seeing Bloom Floral’s continued success in North Iowa!”

Driven by her love for designing unique floral arrangements, Kelsey Thompson founded Bloom Floral in 2011 to serve customers in Algona and the surrounding communities. Kelsey and her staff travel all over North Iowa to provide personalized wedding flowers, event setups, and rental items for wedding customers. Bloom Floral’s design team has over 60 years of combined experience and is dedicated to providing the freshest flowers and the highest level of community service. In addition to running Bloom Floral, Kelsey serves as the president of the Algona Chamber of Commerce, runs “Petals & Profits,” an online resource to help other florists, and produces a podcast called “The Retail Florist” to share her small business strategies.

Stay tuned as Ranking Member Ernst recognizes more Iowa small businesses across the state with her Small Business of the Week award.
