Ernst Commemorates Fifth Anniversary of Abraham Accords

WASHINGTON – In case you missed it, co-chair of the Senate Abraham Accords Caucus Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) joined Fox News’ Trey Gowdy to discuss the fifth anniversary of the historic Abraham Accords that ushered in unprecedented cooperation between Israel and Arab nations.

Ernst spoke about President Trump’s leadership on the world stage to unite the Middle East against the threat of Iran and bring all the hostages home.

“Five years ago, President Trump delivered the Abraham Accords and created unprecedented partnerships between Israel and Arab nations,” said Ernst. “Since then, I have worked to build upon these historic agreements to increase coordination and deter Iran-backed terror through my DEFEND and MARITIME Acts. Today, President Trump continues to work to unite the region against Iranian aggression and secure the release of ALL the hostages from Hamas.”

Background:

Ernst has built upon the Accords and increased coordination by making law her:

  • DEFEND Act, which established an air and missile defense architecture with Israel and other Middle East allies after it was signed into law.
  • MARITIME Act, which required the Pentagon to develop a strategy with partners and allies in the Middle East to counter maritime threats posed by Iran and its proxies.
  • AI ACCORD Act, which increased advanced technology network capabilities across Abraham Accords partners and ensure they will be able to combat Iran and its proxies’ use of cyber and artificial intelligence tools.
  • LINK Act, which built further cooperation and trust with Abraham Accords nations by connecting strategic, operational, and tactical senior commanders between our Middle East partners’ armed forces to boost regional security and military readiness.
  • STARS Act, which took the Abraham Accords network to space by improving satellite security coordination in the Middle East.
